Sendok Group Prepares to Launch Sinotruk EV Trucks in Malaysia
The partnership focuses not only on electric trucks, but also on building a complete new energy ecosystem for commercial transportation.
As Malaysia moves toward cleaner transportation solutions, Sendok Group is preparing to introduce a new range of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) from Sinotruk to the local market.
The Klang-based commercial vehicle group, which operates more than 20 affiliated companies and is one of Sinotruk’s key distributors in Malaysia, recently joined the Sinotruk New Energy Partner Conference 2026 held in Hanoi, Vietnam, from July 20 to 23.

The event brought together around 1,000 partners from 62 countries and marked Shandong Heavy Industry Group’s first international conference dedicated exclusively to new energy vehicles. During the event, global partners explored the Group’s new energy strategy covering commercial vehicles, power systems, intelligent logistics and other sectors.
For Sendok Group, the conference provided an opportunity to understand Sinotruk’s latest electric vehicle technologies and global roadmap, while discussing how these solutions can be adapted to Malaysia’s market conditions.

“New energy is not only about the vehicle itself. It is about creating an ecosystem including charging infrastructure, technical support, aftersales service and business solutions,” said Gwee Chin Hwee, Director of Sendok Group.
HOWO TX-EV Ready for Malaysia
The highlight of Sendok Group’s participation was the preview of Sinotruk’s upcoming electric truck lineup, including the HOWO TX-EV series and T3H e-Light.

The HOWO TX series has been successfully introduced in Malaysia for more than a decade. The new TX-EV lineup will expand the platform into electric applications, covering prime movers, dump trucks, concrete mixers, cargo trucks and special-purpose vehicles.
To support different operating scenarios, the vehicles will offer flexible charging and battery-swapping options.

Sinotruk designed the TX-EV platform with fleet operators’ transition needs in mind. The new energy models share a high level of common components with conventional vehicles, helping reduce complexity for distributors and customers in terms of parts supply and maintenance.
The T3H electric light truck will also complement Sinotruk’s existing product range in Malaysia, providing more options for urban logistics applications.

During the conference, Sendok Group invited customers from the mining, logistics and transport sectors to experience Sinotruk’s new energy solutions and exchange views directly with the manufacturer.
Some Malaysian operators attending the event highlighted the potential benefits of electric trucks, especially lower maintenance costs and improved operating efficiency.
From Electric Trucks to New Energy Ecosystem
According to Sinotruk, the future of commercial vehicle electrification requires more than simply replacing diesel engines with batteries.
The company defines “New Energy” as a comprehensive approach covering battery electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and hybrid technologies, with the most suitable solution selected according to different applications.
Battery electric trucks are currently the most mature solution for operations such as ports, mining sites and short-distance logistics, where charging infrastructure can be efficiently deployed.
Hydrogen and hybrid technologies will continue to play a role in specific applications as infrastructure and market conditions develop.
Sinotruk believes global new energy commercial vehicle growth is entering a new stage, driven by falling battery costs, improving technology, expanding charging networks and the increasing importance of total cost of ownership (TCO).
The company has already introduced new energy solutions in more than 50 countries and is strengthening overseas support through global service networks, spare parts supply and technical training programs.
Market-Oriented Approach for ASEAN
For Malaysia and the wider ASEAN market, Sinotruk and Sendok Group are adopting an application-first strategy.
Rather than introducing electric trucks across all segments immediately, the partners will focus on applications where new energy vehicles can deliver clear economic value, such as port transportation, industrial logistics and mining operations.
“Commercial vehicles are business assets. Customers need to see real economic benefits before making the transition,” said representatives from Sendok Group.

With rising fuel costs, increasing environmental requirements and growing interest in sustainable logistics, both companies believe electric commercial vehicles will gain stronger momentum in Southeast Asia.
As part of its long-term commitment, Sinotruk is also expanding technical training and aftersales capabilities to support customers and distributors during the transition.
At the conference, Sinotruk introduced its new energy brand logo, S-EV, representing sustainability, intelligence and shared value. The company said the logo will become a symbol of its global commitment to green commercial transportation.
For Sendok Group, the arrival of Sinotruk’s electric truck lineup marks a new stage in Malaysia’s commercial vehicle market.
“We believe new energy technologies will become an important part of future transportation,” said Gwee Chin Hwee. “The upcoming Sinotruk models will help Malaysian businesses explore cleaner and more efficient logistics solutions.”
