38,600 Vehicles Exported to Russia
According to statistics, in the first half year of 2007, there are 38,600 vehicles exported to Russia from China which makes Foreign Exchange 0.45billion Us Dollars, up 355.8% and 477.6% respectively. FAW General Manager Xu Haiguang says at present, there are 25million automobiles in Russia and a half of which are facing being discarded or renovating. Because of their slow generating of vehicle technologies and not adequate output(1,000,000 to 1,500,000 units ), Russian Automobile industry can not fulfill the requirements of market. With the recovery of Russian economy and the improvement of citizens, new vehicles whose prices are between 10,000 to 15,000 US Dollars are welcomed.
Because Russian market is large and China has the advantage of being a neighbor of Russia, Chinese vehicle companies are struggling to catch this opportunity and trying to enlarge their market shares in Russia. On the Sino-Russia Vehicle Trade Forum recently held, Vice Secretary of Chinese Commercial Vehicle Export Association Fu Peizhao says, presently, Chinese vehicle companies such as Greatwall, Foton FAW, North-Benz, Hualing and other truck companies and none-truck companies all have good performances in Russia and they will have further achievements in Russia market.
