General Motors, Ford, Toyota Post February Sales Declines
Major automakers in the U.S. reported disappointing sales results for the month of February. General Motors Corp., the world's largest automaker, posted a 13.3% decrease in its U.S. sales, with car sales slipping 1.2% and truck sales down 19.7%. Ford Motor Co. (F) said sales decreased 6.9% from last year. For Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. (TM), February sales declined 6.6%. However, Nissan North America Inc. (NSANY, NSANF.PK) and American Honda Motor Co. Inc. (HMC) reported increases in their monthly sales from the previous year. Additionally, GM North America said its first-quarter production forecast remains unchanged, while the company expects second-quarter production to decline about 5% from last year.
