Europe Commercial vehicle demand continues to rise in Feb.

According to European Automobile Manufacturer's Association demand for new commercial vehicles in Europe was up 1.9% in January 2008 compared to January last year. While van registrations in Europe decreased by -1.9%, the market for trucks noted considerable increases, resulting in 22.3% more registrations of trucks over 3.5t and +23% for heavy trucks.  And f ollowing a modest rise in January, demand for new commercial vehicles in Europe (EU27) continued to increase in February. Overall, registrations were 9.8% higher than in the same month last year. The truck market recorded a double digit growth (+20.7%) and van registrations rose by 7.6%.
