Sales of China truck begins to cool down in June
On July 1st, China national III emission standard will be enforced, which will bring a major impact to China truck market in 2008.
According to experts’ analysis earlier, in the first half year, China truck market would be quite hot while in the other half, China truck market will be cool down greatly. Until now, we find that the analysis is quite right. Facts show that in the first 5 months of 2008, heavy duty truck sales volume reached 318,000 units increased by 50% y-o-y. To most major truck makers, 60% of the annual sales target has been reached. However, truck order in June decreased by 40% to 50% compared with May.
With National III emission standard around the corner, major truck makers such as Sinotruk began to control production volume of National II truck strictly.
