Scania receives fire truck chassis supply order from Bomba
Swedish commercial vehicle manufacturer Scania has been selected as the preferred supplier of chassis for fire trucks by the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, known as Bomba, with an order of 109 units.
The units, all nine-liter P-series trucks with the Scania CrewCab, are scheduled for delivery to Bomba in the first quarter of 2009, with all 109 units to be delivered during 2009.
With this latest order, a total of 214 Scanias will be in service in the Bomba fleet by the end of 2009.
Body and fire-fighting equipment are being furnished by local bodybuilders AVP Engineering and Pesaka Astana in collaboration with Ziggler and Plastisol.
