Navistar celebrates acquisition of Pure Power Technologies
(chinatrucks.com, Jan.28, 2010)Navistar celebrated the acquisition of Pure Power Technologies during a special inauguration at the company's Columbia Technical Center yesterday.
Navistar took over the company last year to bring the production of key fuel injection components in-house.
"One of Navistar's strategic pillars is to achieve a competitive cost structure by controlling our own destiny. By designing and manufacturing our own fuel system technologies, Pure Power Technologies enables us to do exactly that," said Eric Tech, president, Navistar Engine Group.
With the acquisition, Navistar will vertically integrate research and development, engineering and manufacturing capabilities for fuel injection systems used in its MaxxForce engines. Pure Power Technologies will operate a research and development center at its home in Columbia, S.C. and a manufacturing plant in nearby Blythewood.
