GM to research small truck and medium pickup
(chinatrucks.com, August 11, 2010) It is learned by reporter on August 9th 2010 that GM is to increase new vehicles in next few years. The new vehicles include medium pickup and Europe extension small truck.
GM did not consider the traditional North America small truck, but researches whether the size of selling Opel Zafira truck could be enlarged at Europe market.
At the same time, America small and medium pickup market is facing the tough circumstances. Sales volume of small and medium pickup has decreased 5.6% at the first half of 2010.
Sales volume of large pickup in GM is ranking after Ford. However, at the small pickup market, GM has owned only 12.5% market share, but Toyota has taken 42% market share in accordance with the disclosed statistics.
