Meritor Wabco to demonstrate safety systems
www.chinatrucks.com: Meritor Wabco is providing fleet managers and dealers with the opportunity to experience its stability control and collision avoidance safety systems first-hand at a ride-and-drive at Atlanta Motor Speedway Sept. 14.
Sessions are scheduled for 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and are open to fleets of all sizes, owner/operators and truck and trailer dealers, the company announced.
Systems to be demonstrated include Meritor's: SmartTrac Stability Control System; and OnGuard Collision Safety System.
SmartTrac is a suite that includes anti-lock braking, automatic traction control and stability control systems that can help a driver maintain control of the vehicle when an accident is imminent. OnGuard is a forward-looking radar-based collision safety system that detects objects in the vehicle's path and automatically dethrottles the engine and applies the brakes to help prevent a rear-end collision.
