MIIT to release new entry regulations for trailers in September
Date:2012-05-18 Author:Eric Source:www.chinatrucks.com
www.chinatrucks.com: The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) is drafting an entrance policy for trailer makers and their products, reported chinaspcar.com.
The new regulations will separate trailers from the special-purpose vehicle category, and each of the three types of trailer products, semi-trailers, trailers, and center axle trailers, will be managed with specific requirements.
MIIT released a document on the regulation of large and medium buses and trucks on December 31, 2011. According to the document, all trailer manufacturers should be managed under the regulation and their products should be registered with the traffic administration departments of the public security authorities starting January 1, 2013.
China implemented the Entrance Regulation for Special-Purpose Vehicle and Trailer Manufacturers and Their Products on July 1, 2009 to regulate eight types of special-purpose vehicle products. The State Council then issued documents to limit the number of new special-purpose vehicle enterprises and requested M&As within existing enterprises.
Industry analysts said it is important to set up new entrance regulations for trailer makers and their products, which have been appealed for by the industry for a long time.
