www.chinatrucks.com: The first 400 Sinotruk heavy trucks with Euro 5 emission were delivered to Brazil on May 22, and the rest 1,600 trucks will be delivered soon.
Currently national 3 emission standards are used in China, and this is really a major event for exporting Euro 5 heavy trucks to Brazil, marking excelling of Sinotruk products over Brazilian like trucks.
When entering WTO some twelve years ago, China auto industry are debating whether we choose Japan-Korea or Latin American models. At that time, China manufacturing ability for both passenger cars and commercial vehicles are not as good as Brazil. And now, China auto industry are much better than Brazil in terms of number, R&D ability and manufacturing ability, especially truck industry.
It is mostly joint-ventures for truck industry, and all the eight major commercial vehicle makers have their presence in Brazil. But the truck models they are producing are out-dated, and they cannot compete with Sinotruk products in terms of price-ratio performance.
