Volvo's 'ballerina' truck stunt video attracts millions of views online

www.chinatrucks.com: Volvo Trucks’ European division has drawn the eyes of millions to its new FH series via an online video that showcases the truck’s drivability and handling in thrilling fashion.
The video, dubbed “The Ballerina Stunt,” features a young woman walking a slackline (think tightrope, only not tight) between two trucks driving at full speed. American slackliner Faith Dickey is shown successfully crossing between the two trucks before they enter a tunnel. The film was recorded on an almost completed new stretch of motorway in Croatia, with no oncoming traffic, according to officials.
The sweaty palm-inducing film has proven a popular one, with more than 5.4 million views on YouTube since the video was added Aug. 16.
Volvo officials say the stunt was possible to carry out due to the excellent stability and handling of the new Volvo FH, which allowed both trucks to maintain a steady gap throughout the stunt.
“It’s not enough simply to say that we are good. We wanted to demonstrate just how much progress we’ve made in the area of driveability and handling,” says Ulf Nordqvist, project manager for the new Volvo FH series.
