Chinese Gear Industry Increased 36.6% through 2012
www.chinatrucks.com: The Chinese gear industry grew 36.6% through 2012, to reach output levels of 1.90 million tons. Although the overall scale and growth indicates China's strong gear demand, there is still a large gap between China and foreign countries in basic research and development, product performance and so forth, and high-end products still need to be imported.
After 30 years of reform and opening up, with the fast development of national economy, China gear industry makes a great progress.
The industry has a full range of products, which are widely used in more than 20 fields, such as aviation and shipping, army equipment, auto agricultural equipment, machine tool, engineering machinery, track traffic, cement construction, lifting and transport, mining and metallurgy, electric power, petrochemical, instruments and meters and so on.
An independent and complete industrial system has been formed; the backbone enterprises initially formed the brand-new product R&D capability, which makes contribution to the advancement of equipment manufacturing industry.
According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, as of the end of 2011, there were 903 gear manufacturing enterprises above designated size in China (with the turnover of more than 2,500 Yuan).
The market size of China gear industry reached 123.3 billion Yuan, which increased 3.8 times than that of 2005, and which marked China as a real world's gear manufacturing giant. At present, China's gear industry size ranks in third position on a global scale.
Gear as an important part of the equipment industry finds exceedingly wide applications, with the automotive industry as the main application field. Gear manufacturers have their specific focus products, with high concentration in various market segments.
For example, in the heavy-duty truck transmission market, FAST occupies a market share of 75%; in the medium-duty, light-duty and mini-truck transmission market, Wanliyang is expected to raise its market share to 34% after acquiring Shandong Lingong; in the bus transmission market, Qijiang Gear Transmission has maintained a market share of 70% or so.
