FAW-Diesel Establishes Strategic Cooperation with Wuyi Transportation
www.chinatrucks.com: FAW Wuxi Diesel Sales Co. (FAW Diesel) signed a strategic agreement with Wuyi Communication and Transportation Co. (Wuyi Transportation) recently, marking a future alliance between a leading Chinese engine maker and a transportation provider of the Fujian Province, reported Auto Weekly.
The negotiation between the two parties started from December 14, 2012 and reached an agreement of mutual benefits. Wuyi Transportation will give preference to FAW Diesel in engine selection, and FAW Diesel will fully support Wuyi Transportation in service, technology and components supply.
With series of FAW Diesel products as featured products, Wuyi Transportation will expand truck maintenance parts market and establish an auto parts subsidiary supplying Yutong Bus, JAC Bus, Wuxi Diesel Power, and King Long Bus.
FAW Diesel, in expanding into the truck market, is endeavoring in the development of the bus market. According to Li Yuxiao, general manager of FAW Diesel, the company will build its bus engine brand into the country’s No. 1 brand with the “Auvic” engine as its featured product.
FAW Diesel established the bus department in 2006 and deployed offices and staffs nationwide. The R&D department of the company also set up an R&D team exclusively for bus engines, said the company.
Xi’an Silver Bus Corp., a bus joint venture between Volvo Bus Corp. and Xi’an Aircraft Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. has chosen FAW Diesel as its sole engine provider. The China City Public Transportation Association granted FAW Diesel the best awards of energy-saving and environmental protection engine, and the company’s Auvic 11L engine also won the first prize of National Award for Science and Technology Progress.
