The 2013 Volvo Trucks Fuelwatch Competition South China Semi-Final Concludes
www.chinatrucks.com : May 31, 2013. Guangzhou, China – The 2013 Volvo Trucks Fuelwatch Competition South China semi-final concluded today. Meng Kui from Zhihong Logistics tops the South China semi-final with his rich driving experience. The other two contestants – Zhang Jie (second place) and Sun Honglin (third place) both from Deppon Logistics will join in the national final to be held this July.

In such a competitive competition, the best record of South China semi-final is 24.36L/100km achieved by Meng Kui from Zhihong Logistics, while the average fuel consumption is 26.08L/100km.
Meng Kui, the winner of the South China semi-final, shared with his experience: “I’ve always looked forward to participating at Volvo Trucks Fuelwatch competition. It’s a really good platform to meet new friends and exchange our fuel-saving tips. I actually feel very relaxed in the competition since it’s more like a place where we share our driving experience rather than merely a competition. I hope that Volvo Trucks can continue holding this competition and to make more people to recognize and care about truck drivers’ life and work.”

The 2012 Fuelwatch Ambassador Cui Neng (online name “Chuanhang VOLVO”) also joined the 2013 South China semi-final. Last year, Mr. Cui won the Fuelwatch Ambassador Online Vote through this professional fuel-saving experiences and warmly-welcomed posts, as well as touching driver stories. He was entitled to participate in the Volvo Trucks Fuelwatch Competition Asia-Pacific Final in Melbourne, Australia together with the winner of the China final. Cui Neng showed great interest to competition and shared with his feeling: “My trip to Australia was one of the best memories in my life. I’ve never been abroad before I was elected as Fuelwatch ambassador. Volvo Trucks’ Fuelwatch Competition is getting more amazing year by year. Participating in the competition or simply watch the competition can both give me incredible experiences. “
Many of the participants were the first time joining Fuelwatch Competition, but they’ve known a lot about this competition from their colleagues who participated at Fuelwatch before and looked forward to it. Volvo Trucks Open Driver Training Sessions are designed to help Chinese truck drivers improve their skills on safety and fuel-saving driving. According to Volvo Trucks statistics, truck drivers can lower the average fuel consumption by 20%- 25%, from 40L/100km to 30-32L/100km after attending the training. Truck drivers can save 12,432 to 15,540RMB worth of fuel costs for the company if a truck runs 20,000 kilometers monthly and the price of fuel is valued at RMB7.77 per liter.

Talent Training is the Key to Logistics Industry in South China
Currently, logistics industry in South China is growing very rapidly because of the prosperous economy in South China and subsidiaries from local government.
