Isuzu Releases a Chongqing-Developed Truck

www.chinatrucks.com : The engine is half a sedan big, the driving cab is more than 3 meters high, the four heavy duty trucks made by Qingling attracted a lots of attentions on a exhibition held in Chongqing. The trucks are designed and manufactured by Qingling, and are selected into the strategic truck series of Isuzu, which will be sold in global markets.

Since their cooperated in 1995, Qingling has been introducing Isuzu into China. This time, they are practicing a new cooperation model, namely Qingling design and manufacture independently while using Isuzu engines. The model will later be introduced into other markets through channels of Isuzu.

 

 This vehicle is truly a Chongqing-designed, said staff of Qingling. In 2011, the two companies jointly-ventured a R&D company as well as spare part company, which blends talents from China and Japan, develops new models according to Chinese market. This not only promotes R&D capability of Qingling , but also saves money for Isuzu.

As the largest market for heavy duty trucks, China sees local brands dominate low end market while foreign brands monopoly high end market. By developing high end products, Qingling will enter a field that no domestic competitors have entered.

The new product of Qingling is more energy-saving than its competitors, and it is scheduled to hit the market in next year. the production capacity is expected to reach 30000 by 2015.
