Scania: Continuous Improvement Facilitates to Build Trucks for Chinese Users
www.chinatrucks.com: On November 23, 2013, Scania unveils new streamline in Guangzhou. The streamlined design and improvement in cab attract many users who say to drive such a truck in future. At the press conference in Guangzhou, Mr. Mats Harborn, Executive Director of the Scania China Strategic Office, says “New streamline truck is specially designed for Chinese users combing China 4 emission standard and meeting for demands for low consumption. It will be the most popular haulage tool in Chinese highly effective logistics industry in future.”

Continuous improvement
The first Streamline was introduced in 1991 and the streamlined design became very competitive by reducing resistance which further decreases fuel consumption. The name of Streamline and the concept it interprets are not merely the design, but better fuel economy. In Scania, there is a culture named “continuous improvement” which is regarded as “the soul of Scania in its more than 120 years of history and also the impetus to propel Scania to grow constantly,” said by Mr. Harborn. The launching of new Streamline is a good expression of the “continuous improvement” and explains that development never stops in Scania.
Pre-sale service director of Scania China Mr. Cui Rui says: “New Streamline gets improved in terms of the design of every component. Both external and internal enhancement realizes better fuel efficiency at the same time of reducing fuel consumption and upgrading its emission standard. The new Streamline combines the Chinese way of thinking and is regarded as one the best logistic trucks. There will be more new Streamline truck models coming into Chinese market in the first half of 2014.”

Rooted in Chinese market and allocated with different layouts
Su Bolun, Sales Manager of Scania China says: “China’s haulage industry is heading for modernization and customers’ demands are more and more individualized. Scania hopes to provide what they need by our various leading technologies and modular system.” China upgrades the emission standard from China 3 to China 4 and we believe this a good timing to release new Streamline.
In addition to the improvement of quality, Scania also elevates sales and service network. The newly open Guangzhou Direct Store will provide more perfect guarantee system in spare parts and after-sales service.
General Manger of Jinda Cold Chain Transportation Company Mr. Zhao mentions that “Scania provides my fleet with great help through its service station in Wuhan and solves the issue of shortage of spare parts.”
“It is easy to find out from the Third Plenum of the Eleventh Central Committee that the market economy would play a decisive role in China. Scania puts much emphasis on customers’ financial situation to maximize their income which is largely depending on the quality of trucks. The second key issue is to provide the best after-sales service. These two are just what Scania Guangzhou Store provides right now. In future, Scania will continue to improve product quality and service for Chinese customers,” Mr. Mats Harborn says.
