Volvo Trucks Announces the Kick-off of Volvo Trucks China
www.chinatrucks.com:At the beginning of 2014, Volvo Truck announces the “Volvo Trucks China Dream Program”, while it embraces its 80th anniversary in China. This program is based on the Volvo Trucks Public Driver Training held since 2012, aiming at providing the general group of truck drivers with a platform of improving their safety and fuel saving driving skills, and to lead a professional path for them to develop their career.
As a global leading heavy-duty truck manufacturer, Volvo Trucks’ distribution and service network has covered over 140 markets all over the world. Looking back upon its development in China, the first Volvo truck was imported to Shanghai in May 1935, and since then, Volvo trucks has started its extraordinary journey in China. Volvo Trucks brings its high quality product, as well as its coherent corporate values “Quality, Safety, Environmental care” to China. Year 2014 will be its 80th anniversary rooted in China.
Volvo Trucks had witnessed the great development of Chinese logistics industry, and has been well recognized by its Total Transport Solution introduced in 2002, playing the roles of business partner and consultant for the logistics companies to support their transformation to drop and pull transportation model. In the past decade, Volvo Trucks Total Transport Solution achieved rich experience in not only helping the logistics company optimize the management system and gain higher profitability by providing services of logistics data analysis, fleet optimization, fuel management, fleet recruitment, personel training, and etc., but also to build up a fleet in logistic company from the ground. In addition, Volvo Trucks brings its leading experience in driver competent development from the global market, and put the truck drivers into the spotlight by running its Volvo Trucks Fuelwatch Competition in China since 2009, which is widely recognized and well perceived among drivers and Volvo Trucks owners. Moreover, the Volvo Trucks Public Driver Training has provided free courses to over 4,000 public drivers since 2012, highly demonstratinging Volvo Trucks corporate responsibility to Chinese society.
Volvo Trucks China Dream Program is based on the Volvo Trucks Public Driver Training and the understanding that tremendous truck drivers encounter challenge on their career if they would like to become the imported truck drivers due to the lack of opportunity and driving experiences. This program will not only open to the Volvo Trucks drivers for improving safety and fuel saving driving skills, but will provide the training, evaluation and experience to the drivers who are looking forward to becoming an imported truck driver as well. After training and evaluation, their information will be recorded in the database, and job vacancy for Volvo Trucks drivers will be informed to them in the future. In addition, truckers’ dreams with passion and positive energy are possible to be realized with Volvo Trucks.
Mr. Eric Labat, President of Volvo Trucks China introduced Volvo Trucks China Dream Program: “Nowadays, the standard of driver recruitment is stricter. The logistics companies will consider many factors including age, education, personality and driving skills. The experiences in driving imported trucks with the skills of driving efficienctly and safely will be extremely crucial to the drivers for their career development. We hope our campaign can help the driver who wants to drive imported trucks to achieve their goal in their career as early as possible.”
Volvo Trucks keeps the leading position in heavy-duty on-road transportation segment for many years among the European truck brands. It has built up the mature and comprehensive after-service network and spare parts supply system, and become the first choice of the fleet for logistics companies, like Deppon, Jiaji and many other famous logistics companies. Last year Volvo trucks achieved remarkable market performance by increasing 50% of sales volume compared with 2012 in the imported heavy-duty on-road transportation segment, which further enhanced the strategic position of Volvo Trucks in China market. When it is coming to the 80th anniversary in China, Volvo Trucks is looking forward to a brilliant performancein 2014.
