Volvo Trucks Receives another 50 Orders in North China Market
www.chinatrucks.com: August 20th, 2014, Beijing – Volvo Trucks New FH/FM Product Experience was initialed in Beijing in early June, officially unveiling the new range in the China market. In addition to Beijing, the event was held in 3 other cities this summer (Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu), receiving great acclaims from the transportation industry and bringing in a large amount of orders for the new models. Today, Volvo Trucks is holding a delivery ceremony for the northern market, demonstrating that it’s well-recognized leading position and strength in the transportation industry.
In the delivery ceremony, 50 new FH/FM models are handed over to 9 logistics companies. One of these companies, Beijing Broadcom Beauty of Logistics, ordered 35 new FM460 62T at a time. When added to their current fleet of FM trucks, Beijing Broadcom Beauty of Logistics will have a transportation fleet of over 40 Volvo Trucks.

In the extremely competitive and fast growing logistics market, Beijing Broadcom Beauty of Logistics’ operational expertise lies in their uptime, with their fleet of Volvo Trucks being a core part of their competitive advantage, supporting them to take advantage of market opportunities. Its General Manager Jia Jinsheng remarked, “In my opinion, uptime is the core competitiveness in today’s transportation industry. The key components of uptime are speed and reliability. One of the reasons I chose Volvo Trucks is because they can maintain the high speed. The new FMs are powerful enough that even when our vehicles are fully loaded they can still safely drive at a steady speed of 80 km/h. Other trucks, when fully loaded, are only afford an average speed of 50-60 km/h, therefore we can ensure the transportation arrival on time by driving Volvo Trucks. Besides, Volvo Trucks demonstrates the reliability through high uptime of the trucks. In 2009 we bought our first Volvo truck, which currently has run 1.7 million kilometers without being overhaul. Moreover, we know that vehicles manufactured in Sweden have undergone multiple tests in cold conditions, therefore they will be well-suited for our transportation routes between Beijing and Northeast China. During the winter, when temperatures in the Northeast drop to -30℃, our trucks keep good performance. This makes us even more confident in the high quality of Volvo Trucks.”
Volvo Trucks’ high uptime is not only reflected by frequency and reliability, but also by new innovative technologies tailor-made to solve customers’ real problems. Another client of Volvo Trucks, Zhongyi Express Logistics Company, also purchased 4 new FH models. General Manager Zhao Shunqiang said, “In 2012 we bought Volvo trucks for the first time. For a three-day two round-trip journey between Beijing and Changchun, Volvo Trucks’ can save more money than domestic trucks do. Furthermore, the high frequency trip between Beijing and Qingdao, back and forth in one day, can only be done by a Volvo Truck. Able to withstand 20 trips in one month, a Volvo trucks’ value is the same of 2 domestically manufactured trucks combined. On top of that, Volvo Trucks are more fuel efficient and more reliable than domestic trucks. For example, Volvo Trucks consumes 3.5-5 liters less gas per kilometer than domestic brands. The first batch of Volvo Trucks we purchased have already run 450,000 km and their operational condition is still very good. Furthermore, when deciding to purchase the new FH, we were not only attracted by the outlook, but by the safety and manipulation provided by the advanced Volvo Trucks patented technology¬—Volvo Dynamic Steering (VDS). It is without a doubt that the new range will improve our company image. All of these reasons made us fully determined to continue purchasing Volvo Trucks.”
By relying on its more advanced products, unique technologies, and updated package aftersales service systems, Volvo Trucks bring their customers’ 6 business values including increased uptime, productivity, fuel efficiency, safety, security and driver appeal, which will in turn improve customers’ profits. A key technology worth emphasizing is the patented Volvo Dynamic Steering (VDS) technology found in all new range. Installed on the motor steering mechanism, VDS enables the electronic control unit to regulate the electric motor two thousand times per second, compensating for the imbalances between the left and right wheels, and ensuring no interference from the road surface or wind conditions. VDS can even reduce the risk of the vehicle turning over in the event of a blown tire. The technology brings drivers a relaxed driving experience, making driving a truck feel like driving a car. Even with a trailer attached, drivers can easily use one finger to control the steering wheel, and drive in a straight line when reversing on a bumpy road. The new FH/FM are also equipped with the I-Shift automatic transmission which redefines the standards of driving comfort and fuel efficiency for the transport industry. The I-Shift system is considered to be a leader in power system fuel saving technology. In addition, improved front and rear suspension systems, ergonomic design, as well as the aerodynamic design, also dramatically improve the driving experience.
In addition to these new and improved technologies, the Volvo Trucks Service Agreement also plays an important role in helping transportation companies increase their vehicle’s uptime. For many logistics companies with large fleets, this service agreement has become indispensable. The excellence of the Volvo Trucks Gold Service Agreement lies in Volvo Trucks’ Professional Team, which will, according to the vehicle optimization service plan (VOSP) system create a maintenance plan tailored to each client’s fleet. The service plan covers 5 years or 1.2 million km of driving and includes the cost of preventative maintenance. The Volvo Trucks Service Agreement will help customer to achieve a high uptime and efficiency of their trucks, enhancing the product depreciation value and extending the product life cycle as well.
Volvo Trucks has been a leader in the imported truck market for many years and currently occupies nearly half the market share. At present, Volvo Trucks owns a service network in China with nearly 50 service points, a professional technical team and a 24/7 Calling Center and “Customer Care Center” which have already been operating for eight years. In addition, Volvo Trucks’ spare parts warehouse is located in Shanghai and keeps more than 15,000 original genuine spare parts in stock, guaranteeing a 97% supply rate.
Eric Labat, President of Volvo Trucks China, said, “Our greatest award is gaining the respect and recognition of our customers’, our products, our services, our dealership network and our employees. Through our hard work, our customers are able to experience the outstanding quality, efficiency, safety and fuel efficiency of our products.
