China Premier: VOLVO Trucks To-Be-Locally-Produced Flagship Model FH
On November 5, the fourth China International Import Exhibition (CIIE) officially kicked off in Shanghai. The Volvo to-be-locally-produced flagship model FH made its debut on November 6 at the 2021 China InternationalImport Expot Expo in Shanghai, another big move after VOLVO announced that it would set up a manufacturing plant in Taiyuan in August. VOLVO FH is equipped with the I-SAVE package, which comprises I-SEE predictive cruise control, trubine engine and I-SHAPE automatic transmission. This is a system in which the vehicle itself can grasp the situation from information acquired by sensors in the automatic transmission and enable the predictive cruise control while driving. In addition, Volvo FH with I-Save could cut fuel costs by 10% compared to a truck without I-Save.

On the same day, Volvo Truck and Xuzhou Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd. Signed an agreement to further deepen their ties and carry out cooperation in the sales of trucks and related services.

By moving its production to China, Volvo aims to further strengthen its presence and cut the delivery time to its customers in China. In addition, it has introduced I-Save system and built a more well-connected service network. Its Uptime Center will soon be put into operation.
“We will provide more customized truck products for our customers and help them cut their operation costs and strengthen their competitiveness. In addition, we will work closely with our investors, sales agents and other business partners to create win-win situations”, said Dong Chunrui, vice president of Volvo Truck and Volvo Truck China.
On the back of its global supply chain and industrial chain, Volvo saw its sales of trucks grow by 63% in 2020.
