Knorr China Marks 20 Years of Localized Operation
On June 25, 2024, Knorr, a leading global supplier of commercial vehicle system solutions, held a grand celebration in Dalian, China, to celebrate the completion and commissioning of Knorr Brake Systems' new factory in Dalian, and to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the localization of Knorr's commercial vehicle systems production.

The New Factory, A New Industry Model
Knorr Brake Systems' new factory in Dalian is located on the scenic Dalian coast. The new factory covers an area of 40,000 square meters with a building area of 30,625 square meters. It includes an advanced manufacturing workshop of 11,000 square meters, an intelligent warehouse of 7,000 square meters, and a technology research and development center of 3,000 square meters, laying a solid foundation for large-scale high-quality production. Incorporating cutting-edge technologies such as robotic arms and intelligent logistics systems, coupled with precise cleanliness testing, coordinate measuring, and X-Ray inspection equipment, the new factory ensures that every product meets the industry's top standards. From air compressors to shock absorbers, and then to disc brakes, the annual production capacity is up to 1 million, 1 million, and 700,000 units respectively, meeting both domestic and global market demands.

The new Knorr factory in Dalian is not only a production base but also a model of green building. The rooftop solar project has been successfully connected to the grid, contributing 13% of clean energy to the factory. The new factory also actively adopts low-energy production methods, such as a rainwater recovery system for recycling resources, and strictly implements wastewater treatment and waste classification and recycling policies. It is committed to promoting environmental protection, with a goal of increasing the proportion of green energy use to 30% by 2030. Knorr is taking practical actions to fulfill its firm commitment to sustainable development, leading the industry in green upgrades and setting a new benchmark for green and smart manufacturing.
