Wanliyang Achieves Major Breakthrough in New Energy Heavy Truck Drive Systems
Wanliyang has successfully completed the trial run of its first new energy heavy truck drive system, the EV280-4EG280. Developed by the company’s heavy truck drive system team, this milestone marks a significant advancement in Wanliyang’s technology and showcases its ability to innovate and respond quickly to market demands.

Designed specifically for electric heavy trucks, this system integrates a five-in-one electronic control unit, offering high efficiency, reliability, and environmental benefits. It features cutting-edge permanent magnet synchronous motor technology, delivering a continuous power output of 280 kW and a peak power of 420 kW, with a maximum torque of 22,000 N·m. This ensures strong performance across various driving conditions, whether climbing steep slopes with heavy loads or cruising at high speeds.
The system is also highly efficient. The motor reaches a maximum efficiency of 97%, the control system 98.8%, and the transmission 99.8%. This means less energy waste and better power utilization. Additionally, an intelligent energy recovery function captures energy during braking and downhill driving, helping to extend driving range and reduce operating costs.
Remarkably, Wanliyang completed the entire process—from project initiation and design to prototyping, assembly, and testing—in just six months. This rapid development reflects the company’s agility and technical expertise, reinforcing its position in the new energy commercial vehicle sector.
The EV280-4EG280 has already attracted interest from multiple leading domestic automakers, opening new market opportunities for Wanliyang. Looking ahead, the company plans to accelerate product development, expand its lineup, and continue investing in new energy solutions. Wanliyang is committed to providing efficient and reliable drive systems for commercial vehicles, contributing to the sustainable growth of the industry.
