The 2025 China Commercial Vehicles Show (CCVS), themed "Premier, Intelligent, Green," opened today in Wuhan. This event serves as a crucial platform for collaborative innovation across the commercial vehicle industry chain, launching at a pivotal moment as China's sector reaches a new energy tipping point and enters a period of global expansion. By championing innovation to drive industrial transformation, the exhibition is set to significantly advance the high-quality development of China's commercial vehicle industry.

Industry Transformation and Current Market Landscape

Since the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China's commercial vehicle industry has undergone a critical transition from rapid growth to high-quality development. Guided by innovation and focused on developing new quality productive forces, the shift in energy structure is propelling comprehensive upgrades across the entire industrial chain.

This year represents a pivotal bridge in China's economic development. Structural growth trends within the Chinese commercial vehicle market are particularly pronounced, with new energy commercial vehicles and exports showing sustained growth that is steering the entire industry toward steady and positive development. Concurrently, slowing demand, product mix adjustments, the transition between old and new growth drivers, and ongoing transformation challenges are testing the sector's overall profitability. Mergers, acquisitions, and market consolidation are becoming more frequent and intense. New players, products, and business models continually emerge while industrial chain boundaries expand and the ecosystem grows increasingly robust, leading to profound changes within the commercial vehicle landscape.

From January to September 2025, China's commercial vehicle sales reached 3.117 million units, a year-on-year increase of 7.8%. Sales of new energy commercial vehicles continued their upward trajectory, with domestic sales hitting 566,000 units in the first nine months—a surge of 61.4% year-on-year. The market penetration rate reached 23.9%, with the annual rate expected to exceed 30%. This marks a substantive inflection point, indicating the industry's new energy transition is shifting from policy-driven to market-driven.
