Hybot H49 Crowned "2026 China Truck of the Year (CTOY 2026)"
On November 10, 2025, at the 2025 China International Commercial Vehicle Show (CCVS) in Wuhan, the "2026 China Truck of the Year (CTOY 2026)" awards, hosted by the Commercial Vehicle Magazine, were officially announced. The H49, a globally first forward-developed hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty truck for line-haul logistics from Guangzhou Hybot Technology Co., Ltd., won the "2026 China Truck of the Year (CTOY 2026)" title, thanks to its groundbreaking technical architecture, exceptional full-lifecycle value, and promising commercial prospects.

At the awards ceremony, Gianenrico Griffini, Special Advisor to the Chairman of the International Truck of the Year jury, Wang Xia, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Automotive Industry Branch, and Yu Jing, Chairman of the China Truck of the Year jury and Deputy General Manager of Beijing Zhuozhong Publishing Co., Ltd., presented the trophy and plaque to Hybot. Huang Zhaoqin, Chairman of Hybot, and CEO Sun Ying attended the ceremony and accepted the honors.

As the first technology company in China dedicated to providing hydrogen fuel cell commercial vehicle mobility solutions, Hybot has adhered to a "forward-development" approach from the outset, breaking away from the industry's long-standing reliance on "diesel-to-hydrogen" conversions. This innate innovation philosophy enabled the H49 to exhibit distinct product characteristics from traditional fuel-powered and other new energy heavy-duty trucks right from the design stage. The jury noted in its review that the H49 sets a reference standard for new-generation heavy-duty trucks in terms of cab design and interior space. Its integrated innovations in technical architecture and intelligent driver assistance open up a new, verifiable, and promising technological pathway for low-carbon, efficient development in China's line-haul logistics heavy-duty trucks.

In terms of core performance metrics critical to commercial vehicle economics, the H49 has set multiple industry records. Equipped with a 300kW high-power fuel cell system and an innovative hydrogen-electric integrated smart chassis design, the truck achieves optimized energy efficiency through deep integration of the power chain and hydrogen storage system. The application of an 800V high-voltage architecture and silicon carbide electronic controls reduces energy consumption by 15% compared to the industry average, while the comprehensive efficiency of the fuel cell system exceeds 55%.

After nearly two years of engineering iterations, the H49 achieves a gaseous hydrogen range of over 1,000 kilometers and a hydrogen consumption of 7.1 kg/100 km under full load (49 tons) on highways. This performance not only doubles or triples the range of comparable pure-electric heavy-duty trucks but also resolves the long-standing range anxiety in line-haul logistics. Additionally, the H49 excels in extreme environmental adaptability, operating stably in temperatures as low as -30°C, as high as 45°C, and at altitudes up to 3,500 meters, breaking through regional limitations for hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks.
Breakthroughs in lightweight design and energy efficiency optimization are key factors behind the H49's success. Through deep integration of the power chain, hydrogen storage system, and chassis, along with innovative use of carbon fiber materials, the H49 manages to keep its curb weight under 10 tons. A ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.35 further reduces energy consumption. With its "quality-performance" dual-optimization design philosophy, the vehicle reaches a top speed of 120 km/h under full load, ensuring high transport efficiency.
Moreover, the H49 is pre-equipped with an L4-level high-end autonomous driving system, supporting over ten intelligent functions such as highway autopilot and platooning. These innovations not only reduce driver workload but also enhance operational efficiency and economy through intelligent speed control and route optimization.
Beyond hardware breakthroughs, the deep application of software-defined vehicle technology highlights the H49's future-ready core competitiveness. Based on a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) with cross-domain integration and cloud-vehicle synergy, the H49 achieves hardware pre-configuration and software decoupling, allowing for seamless Over-The-Air (OTA) updates to evolve functionalities. This forward-looking design ensures the vehicle remains technologically advanced throughout its lifecycle, enabling users to access the latest autonomous driving features and energy management strategies without hardware replacements. Combined with remote diagnostics and cloud-based maintenance services, the H49 can reduce comprehensive operational costs by over 10%, delivering tangible economic benefits to logistics companies.
Hybot is also rapidly advancing its commercial deployment. The company has already completed multiple batches of vehicle deliveries, with products operating stably in interprovincial line-haul logistics scenarios in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei-Shandong region, Southern China, and Sichuan, serving renowned clients such as JD Logistics, IKEA, and Coca-Cola. As a three-time lead unit undertaking Beijing’s fuel cell vehicle demonstration projects, Hybot’s related models have accumulated over 700,000 kilometers in customer operations. Moving forward, Hybot will collaborate with ecosystem partners to further expand operational scale and provide customers with Total Value of Operation (TVO)-optimized integrated mobility solutions encompassing "vehicle + energy + N".
The H49’s "China Truck of the Year" victory transcends the recognition of a single product—it marks a significant milestone in the transition of China’s hydrogen commercial vehicles from technical standards to practical application. It demonstrates to the global market that hydrogen heavy-duty trucks are no longer laboratory concepts but practical tools that create economic value for the logistics industry. Against the backdrop of global climate change and energy transition, Hybot, with its innovative vision and robust technology, outlines a clear and viable path for the clean transformation of the global commercial vehicle industry, making a zero-carbon transport future within reach.
