SAIC MAXUS Secures Malaysia's Largest Electric Van Order
SAIC MAXUS has secured two major fleet agreements in Malaysia, including the country's largest-ever single order for electric light vans, during the 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show.
The Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer signed agreements covering a total of 455 vehicles with local partners Yinson GreenTech and Global Komited, highlighting growing demand for electric and specialized commercial vehicles in the Malaysian market.
Under the first agreement, drivEV, the electric mobility division of Yinson GreenTech, will acquire 300 units of the MAXUS eDeliver 5 electric van. The deal represents the largest single electric light van order recorded in Malaysia to date and the largest electric van procurement project undertaken by Yinson GreenTech.

The eDeliver 5 is built on SAIC MAXUS' HONGTU 2.0 electric commercial vehicle platform and is equipped with CATL battery technology. Designed for urban distribution and logistics operations, the model is expected to support Malaysia's ongoing transition toward lower-emission transportation solutions.
In a separate agreement, Global Komited, a subsidiary of Malaysian automotive and mobility group Weststar, will purchase 155 special-purpose vehicles based on the MAXUS Deliver 9 platform.

According to the company, the vehicles will be converted for specialized applications under factory standards, making them the first factory-modified special-purpose vehicles delivered in Malaysia. The project also marks SAIC MAXUS' entry into the country's high-end customized commercial vehicle segment.
Global Komited is a supplier of specialized vehicles serving sectors including emergency response, defense, and public services. The Deliver 9 platform was selected for its chassis capability and flexibility for vehicle conversion programs.
The agreements were signed during the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show, attended by Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Water Transformation, Fadillah Yusof. During his visit to the SAIC MAXUS display, he viewed the company's latest vehicle lineup, including its new-energy models.

Yang Huaijing, Chairman of the SAIC Commercial Vehicle Management Committee and General Manager of SAIC MAXUS, attended the signing ceremony alongside representatives from Yinson Group, Weststar Group, Global Komited, and other partners.
In addition to the fleet agreements, SAIC MAXUS introduced three pickup models to the Malaysian market: the Terron 9, eTerron 9, and T60. The launch expands the company's local product portfolio across both conventional and electrified pickup segments.
SAIC MAXUS said it currently holds the leading position in Malaysia's electric van market. The company exports vehicles to more than 100 countries and regions worldwide and remains one of China's largest exporters of light commercial vehicles and pickup trucks.
Its international customer base includes major logistics operators such as DHL and Royal Mail, reflecting the growing global presence of Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturers.
