Foton Motor Exports 109,071 Vehicles in H1 2026, Up 38.9% YoY
Foton Motor exported 109,071 vehicles in the first half of 2026, up 38.9% from a year earlier and marking the company's highest-ever overseas sales for the January-June period.
Total vehicle sales exceeded 360,000 units during the first six months of the year, representing year-on-year growth of 10.1%.
The company maintained strong momentum in both domestic and international markets. In China, Foton remained the country's leading light-duty truck manufacturer, while its heavy-duty truck business ranked among the top three by sales.
International deliveries were driven by a series of large export projects. Highlights included the delivery of 800 Auman heavy-duty trucks to Africa and more than 100 AUV 12-meter city buses to South Asia, the largest single export order for Chinese buses in that market.
In June, Foton sold 58,000 vehicles, up 10.4% year over year. Overseas exports totaled nearly 20,000 units, an increase of 43.2%, with international sales accounting for 33.8% of the month's total volume.

As China's commercial vehicle market becomes increasingly competitive, overseas business continues to play a larger role in Foton's growth strategy. The company has been developing international markets for more than two decades.
Export Projects Across Multiple Markets
Since launching its international strategy in 2004, Foton has steadily expanded its global presence. The company has remained China's leading commercial vehicle exporter since 2011.
Several large-scale projects were completed during the first half of 2026.
In March, Foton delivered more than 1,000 commercial vehicles to Nigeria's Dangote Group, including CNG tractor trucks and semi-trailers for infrastructure and logistics operations.
The same month, light-duty trucks produced at Foton's manufacturing facility in Thailand entered the Indonesian market. Developed specifically for Southeast Asian operating conditions, the model reflects the company's localized manufacturing strategy.
Foton also expanded its new energy vehicle business overseas. Nearly 100 export-version CAVAN C1 electric vans were delivered to customers in the European Union, marking another step in the company's expansion into the European electric commercial vehicle market.
Additional export orders followed in the second quarter. In early June, Auman delivered 800 heavy-duty trucks to customers in Africa. Later that month, more than 100 AUV 12-meter city buses were supplied to South Asia, setting a new record for a single order of Chinese-built buses in the market.
Across its product portfolio, Auman's overseas sales rose 65.1% year over year in the first half. Overseas sales of Auhawk and Ollin increased 106.3%, while pickup trucks, AUV buses, and Toano vans recorded growth of 38.2%, 38.5%, and 28.8%, respectively. New energy vehicles also accounted for a growing share of Foton's export volume.

By the end of June, the company had achieved 54.5% of its annual overseas sales target of 200,000 vehicles.
Localized Operations Underpin International Growth
Foton's overseas expansion has been supported by continued investment in localized operations across product development, manufacturing, sales, after-sales service, and supply chain management.
The company operates a global R&D network comprising 10 centers in China and eight overseas, enabling products to be developed for local regulations, climate conditions, road environments, and customer requirements.
Its manufacturing footprint includes 20 plants in China and 32 overseas, supporting a gradual shift from exporting finished vehicles to localized production in key international markets.
Foton's sales and service network now spans more than 140 countries and regions, with over 1,200 sales outlets and more than 1,500 service centers.
Since March, the company has conducted nearly 100 technical training programs for dealers and service teams in markets including Singapore, Germany, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Egypt, and Kenya. The programs cover new energy vehicles, pickup trucks, light-duty trucks, heavy-duty trucks, and buses.

To further strengthen its international supply chain, Foton formed Guangzhou Yuanfu Automotive Supply Chain Co., Ltd. in March through a joint venture with COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers. The partnership began operations with the shipment of the first batch of 600 Foton pickup trucks to South America.
With continued investment in localized production, service capabilities, and logistics, Foton is expanding its global commercial vehicle business and supporting its long-term international growth strategy.
