JMC Pickup Trucks Sweep Top Three at Peru’s Caminos del Inca Rally
JMC pickup trucks took the top three positions in the CAM pickup class at the 54th Caminos del Inca Rally, which ended in Arequipa, Peru, on October 18 local time. Peruvian driver Fabiola Medina won the class with no time penalties, while Diego Navea and Karem Quispe finished second and third, respectively.
After making its debut in the rally in 2025, JMC returned for this year’s event and achieved its best result in the competition to date.

Three Trucks, Three Podium Finishes
This year’s rally covered more than 2,000 km across eight regions of Peru. JMC entered three pickup trucks, and all three finished in the top three of the CAM pickup class. Medina finished nearly 35 minutes ahead of the runner-up.

The Caminos del Inca Rally is known for its demanding terrain. The route includes mountain passes in the Andes at nearly 5,000 meters above sea level, as well as canyons, highlands and gravel roads. Low oxygen levels, cold temperatures and rough roads put vehicles’ power, reliability and durability to the test.
JMC pickups won nine of the rally’s 16 timed stages. Medina also completed the rally without any time penalties, demonstrating the truck’s ability to handle challenging road conditions.
Chinese Engineers Support the Team Throughout the Rally
As in 2025, JMC sent Chinese engineers to support its team throughout the competition.
Before the rally, the engineers developed modifications to the trucks’ powertrains, chassis and safety systems. During the 12-day event, they worked with local service technicians in Peru to inspect and maintain the vehicles after each stage, helping keep them in good condition throughout the competition.

JMC provided technical support from its own engineering team throughout the rally, combining the expertise of Chinese engineers with local service capabilities in Peru.
Rally Draws Attention from Peruvian Fans
The Caminos del Inca Rally marked its 60th anniversary this year. National media provided live coverage, and large crowds gathered along the route to watch the competition.

JMC trucks attracted attention as they passed through the stages. At the finish points, fans gathered around the vehicles to take photos and ask drivers for autographs.
Medina, a popular local driver, also attracted attention on Peruvian social media while competing in a JMC pickup. Her class victory added to the attention surrounding the brand during the event.

The rally gave JMC an opportunity to showcase its pickup trucks to local customers and strengthen its presence in Peru and the wider Latin American market.
JMC Continues to Grow in Peru
As of September 2026, JMC ranked fifth in Peru’s pickup truck market by cumulative sales and second among Chinese brands.

JMC continues to focus on product quality and after-sales service in overseas markets. Its work at the rally, from vehicle preparation to on-site technical support, also highlights the role of engineering and service teams in supporting customers outside China.
The company plans to continue investing in overseas markets, providing vehicles designed to meet local operating needs and improving service support for customers worldwide.
