Nissan declares to increase vehicle prices

Nissan Motor Co. said on Aug 29, since Oct.1, the company will increase prices of its 6 commercial vehicles. It is learned that the price hike does not include small commercial vehicles.

The 6 commercial vehicles are mainly light trucks of 1.5 tons, 2 tons and light buses. Average price of the vehicles will be increased by 2.2% about 30,000 Yen to 70,000Yen.

Before the statement, Nissan had said they could not offset the negative effects brought by price increase of Steel and other raw materials by their own effort, price increase would be inevitable.

Nissan says, at present they have no plan to increase sedan prices. When the price will be increased will be determined according to other companies’ action to the cost pressure and consumers’ reaction toward the price change.
