Ford October U.S. sales fall 30.2% to 132,838 units

Ford Motor Co.on Monday reported a 30.2% drop in October U.S. sales to 132,838 vehicles from 190,195 a year ago.

Ford, Lincoln and Mercury combined car sales fell 26.8% to 40,854 units while truck sales declined 30.3% to 88,267 units with sales of the flagship F-Series pickup down 16.3% to 43,324 units.

Volvo brand sales slid 52.1% to 3,717 vehicles. "In the next nine months, we will introduce nine new products plus two new hybrids, which together account for 45% of our volume in 2009," Jim Farley, group vice president of marketing and communications, said in a statement
