SAIC signs $219 million contract with Entergy
(chinatrucks.com, Dec.11, 2009)Science Applications International Corp. said Thursday it has been awarded a contract by Entergy Corp. to continue providing information technology services through 2015.
The six-year contract carries total value of more than $219 million, the company said.
Work will be performed primarily in New Orleans, Little Rock, Ark., and Houston.
Entergy owns and operates power plants with about 30,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity, and is a major nuclear power generator in the United States.
SAIC has supported Entergy since 1999, providing recovery support during hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and other major storms.
McLean, Va.-based SAIC has 45,000 employees. It has contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense, the intelligence community, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, other U.S. government civil agencies. It also serves selected commercial markets.
Shares of SAIC rose 6 cents to $18.18 in afternoon trading.
