Nissan Sets 2010 Sales Target for China JV
(chinatrucks.com, Jan.11, 2010)Dongfeng Motor (DFL), Nissan's partner in China, has unveiled a sales target of one million vehicles for 2010, which is on track to reach the target ahead of it's mid-term business plan, 'PLAN 13' (one cubed).
DFL sales for 2009 are expected to total around 905,000 units, including passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles (LCVs), heavy and medium-duty trucks and buses (H&MCVs), an increase of 28% compared to 2008.
Dongfeng Nissan passenger vehicles contributed to Nissan's forecasted sales of 517,000 units for 2009, an increase of 47% compared to 2008. It has a pan to reach 600,000 units for 2010.
The company said that infrastructure expansion and process modifications will help support one million vehicle target, which includes an addition of new light commercial vehicle plant in Zhengzhou at Henan province, upgrading production facilities and changing production line speed.
Kimiyasu Nakamura, president of DFL, said: "This has been a significant year for the growth of Nissan and DFL in China. With committed employees, a first-class dealership body and a strong product lineup, I'm confident we'll achieve sales of 1 million vehicles next year."
DFL will also introduce two new models for 2010 - global compact car and NV200 minivan - to meet the needs of Chinese customers.
