Geo sets up plant in South Africa
(chinatrucks.com, Sep 14, 2010) After the establishments of overseas plants in Iran and Egypt, Geo is starting to establish the third overseas plant. It is learned by reporter from Geo that Geo is to set up KD plant in South Africa at the middle of 2011. The program is divided into two stages, and the overall investment has reached more than 40 million Euros.
It is said by import and export manager of Geo that the program is divided into two stages, and the annual capacity of the initial stage is 100,000, and the annual capacity of second stage is 250,000. The program is adopted the way to cooperate with the local company. Geo is invested as the way of cash, technology and brand. South Africa Hongding is invested as cash.

The new plant will mainly produce SUV and pickup, and the first vehicle is the pickup named “Fortune” with a good sales performance in South Africa. At the moment, the keeping volumes of the vehicle in South Africa has reached 10,000.
