Demands of Heavy Truck Meets A Rebound
www.chinatrucks.com. Sales in the heavy truck market reached 43,600 with the year-on-year growth of -23.41% in Oct. 2012. The decline has narrowed over the same period last year and has basically met the bottom. A rebound will be seen for the following reasons.
1. The sales of heavy truck have not been able to meet the market demands. The heavy truck population is around 4.2 million at the moment, calculated on the basis of 5-7 years of replacement cycle, the market will face a 610,000-840,000 end-life-vehicles while the sales will only reach 610,000, lower than the actual demand.
2. Fixed asset investment will meet a recovery. With the successive starts of projects approved by National Development and Reform Commission and the advancement of urbanization strategy, fixed asset is to embrace a new peak.
3. The implementation of national GuoⅣ emission standard in 2013 may have the chance to overdraft partial demands in 2012, which will bring a peak in sales.
