Allison Transmission Spotlights the 119th Firefighters Convention
www.chinatrucks.com: At the 2011 Firefighters Convention, Allison showcased the Lynx all-terrain emergency vehicle, built on the Bremach chassis with Iturri Group bodywork. This year, Allison and Iveco Magirus presented the TLF3000, a Eurocargo 4x4 equipped with a 3000 Series fully automatic transmission. Visitors could see this new vehicle at the 119th National Firefighters Convention (Amiens Exhibition and Congress Center, Terrasse Boisselle, Stand 1009) from September 27th to 29th.
Built on an Iveco 150E30 chassis, the TLF 3000 has a 3-seat cabin and is equipped with a 6 cylinder 220 kW (299 hp) engine. The engine driven power take-off is designed to pump between 2000 and 3000 liters/minute at 10 bar pressure. With a gross vehicle weight of 15 tons, this vehicle has a water tank with 3000-liter capacity. The Iveco Magirus AluFire3 body provides equipment storage and optimal weight distribution.
The Eurocargo 4x4 is now available in France with an Allison 3000 Series fully automatic transmission and is suitable for emergency vehicles with engine up to 261 kW (350 hp). An Allison automatic provides specific comfort, safety, handling, and durability requirements of this demanding sector.
Allison Continuous Power TechnologyTM delivers full power shifts, ensuring exceptional performance and precision maneuvering. Torque multiplication through the converter results in superior startability on steep slopes and difficult terrain, while uninterrupted power delivered to the drive wheels results in unrivalled vehicle acceleration.
"Allison Transmission is a preferred partner of firefighting departments all over the world: in Europe, Africa, North and South America, as well as in Asia Pacific," says Benjamin Bouchot, Allison Market Development Manager in France. "Our fully automatic transmissions are used in a wide range of applications from energy and mining sectors to urban distribution. They are designed to perform in extreme conditions and tough operations. With the TLF3000, we are quite proud to demonstrate the value a 4x4 truck equipped with an Allison fully automatic can bring to off-road and forestry missions."
