Sales of Heavy Trucks Down 30% in May
www.chinatrucks.com: CAAM released production and sales data of May on June 10, 2015, and 239,700 trucks were produced in May and 244,300 units were sold in May, down 12.99% and 11.93% over last month and down 13.35% and 10.29% over last year.
We predict that the total sales of truck may amount to 500,000 units this year.
In May, 287,300 commercial vehicles were produced, down 11.78% over last month and down 11.93% over last year, and 294,500 units were sold, down 9.57% over last month and down 8.29% over last year. 239,700 cargo vans were produced in May, and 244,300 units were sold in May, down 12.99% and 11.93% over last month, down 13.35% and 10.29% over last year.
Sales of heavy trucks decreased by 30.16% in May over last year, ranking the most decreased truck models, and sales of mini trucks are increasing. 49,000 heavy trucks were produced in May, and 51,700 units were sold in May, down 6.90% and 11.92% over last month, down 35.32% and 30.16% over last year.
14,100 medium trucks were produced and 16,200 units were sold in May, down 5.78% and 9.02% over April, and down 27.12% and 15.05% over last year.
131,000 light trucks were produced and 134,600 units were sold in May, down 18.03% and 13.85% over last month, down 7.64% and 2.92% over last year.
45,600 mini trucks were produced and 41,800 units were sold, down 5.17% and 6.35% over April, up 14.90% and 3.07% over last year.
Production and sales of commercial vehicles were decreasing in May compared to that of April and over lats year, but the gap is getting smaller. And 245,600 heavy tucks were sold in May, down 32.7% over last year and we can see that the sales of heavy trucks this year may decrease 30% over last year if there is no major improvements in the second half year.
