SAIC Hongyan 5G Intelligent Heavy-duty Truck Makes its Debut in Shanghai
On August 29, 2019 World Artificial Intelligence Conference officially kicked off in Shanghai. SAIC Hongyan 5G intelligent heavy-duty truck made its debut at Shanghai Yangshan Port, accomplishing the world’s first transportation task at port with the assistance of 5G+AI technologies.
Equipped with 5G technologies, the new truck made by SAIC Hongyan collects and analyze data and upgrade automatically. The truck’s intelligent driving chassis is able to help the vehicle realize autonomous driving. In addition, its greener natural gas powered engine and 12-speed automatic transmission gearbox greatly improve the truck’s environmental friendliness.
On the back of SAIC’s formidable strengths in R&D and marketing networks, the new truck is equipped with a host of new technologies, including laser radar, machine visualization, 5G-V2X communications, etc.
As the most busy container port in the world, Yangshan port boasts the highest automation level and the largest scale in the world. Thanks to Hongyan 5G intelligent trucks move smoothly at the busy port without drivers. In just fifteen seconds, the vehicle can load or unload goods and then automatically plan routes and reach its predetermined destinations.
