Chery Zero-Mile 4.2m Electric Light Truck Launched
Chery has officially launched its new Zero-Mile light truck on August 14, in partnership with CATL. This launch comes as the electric vehicle market in China continues to expand rapidly. In the first half of 2024, sales of new energy commercial vehicles in China reached 193,000 units (excluding heavy trucks and pickups), marking a 110% increase year-over-year. Specifically, sales of electric light trucks hit 35,000 units, up 182%, with pure electric models making up over 92% of the total.

Electric light trucks have become a dynamic and promising segment in the commercial vehicle market, with many traditional manufacturers like Zoomlion, Yutong, and Dongfeng entering the field. Chery Commercial Vehicles has teamed up with CATL to introduce the new Zero-Mile light truck, which aims to be a leader in the electric light truck sector with its high-end features.
The Zero-Mile light truck focuses on short to mid-range services and boasts five key advantages: top-notch payload capacity, range, power, comfort, and durability.
The truck uses CATL's third-generation battery with a charge-discharge efficiency of 95.8%. It is the only electric light truck equipped with a pre-installed heating system to prevent battery performance issues in cold weather, allowing for 40-60 more kilometers of driving compared to competitors.
Additionally, the Zero-Mile features a new-generation flat-wire motor with 97% efficiency, rated at 95 kW and peak power of 170 kW, providing strong performance.
For carrying capacity, it includes a 750L high-strength steel frame and a 5-ton rear axle with air brakes, ensuring excellent load-bearing and smooth driving.
The truck has undergone over 150 simulations and validations to ensure it can run a million kilometers without major repairs. The interior is designed for luxury and comfort, with features like electric air conditioning, optional curtain rails, and 220V power supply, offering a comfortable driving experience even on long trips.
Chery's Zero-Mile light truck not only excels in product quality but also upgrades industry service standards, including one-time servicing, smart/home service, three-hour rescue, and 24/7 online support. This creates a comprehensive service system to fully meet customer needs.
With its strong “product + service” combination, the Chery Zero-Mile light truck is set to make a significant impact on the rapidly growing electric light truck market. By focusing on practical customer needs, it aims to become a reliable choice for businesses looking for quality and dependable electric transport solutions.
