Feichi Launches First Hydrogen-Powered Truck in South America
Feichi Motor Technology(Hereafter referred to as Feici) has launched its first hydrogen-powered truck in South America, marking a significant expansion of its global presence. The 49-ton hydrogen-powered truck has recently arrived in Chile, where it will soon begin commercial operations. This move highlights Feichi Technology’s commitment to diversifying the use of hydrogen fuel cell trucks.
The launch event in Chile was attended by Energy Minister Diego Pardow and José Miguel Benavente from the Chilean Government's Production Promotion Agency (CORFO). The introduction of this hydrogen truck is supported by Chile’s Technological Program (PTEC) and represents a major step for the country in adopting clean energy for cargo transportation.
Energy Minister Diego Pardow commented, "The arrival of this hydrogen-powered truck is a milestone for Chile’s logistics and transportation sectors. It is part of our growing innovation in green hydrogen, and this truck from China is a key example. It will be integrated into Chile’s logistics operations and support our 2023 clean energy forklift technology project, furthering advancing our green hydrogen strategy."
The truck is equipped with a high-performance fuel cell system, offering features such as long range, low hydrogen consumption, low operating costs, and zero emissions. Designed to handle Chile’s rugged terrain, it combines advanced driving technology with a robust structural design, including a high-speed four-gear transmission, to manage steep inclines and deliver high-quality green solutions.
Feichi also monitoring global developments in hydrogen vehicles and actively promoting advancements in hydrogen technology. The company is exploring new opportunities for growth as governments worldwide introduce policies to support the research and commercialization of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
Looking ahead, Feichi will continue to expand its presence in the international market, enhancing global collaborations, and advancing the use of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in various commercial scenarios.
