WeRide Was Named to Fortune China's Most Admired Companies List for 2024
On the evening of November 5, Fortune China released its 2024 list of the country’s Most Admired Companies. WeRide (NASDAQ: WRD), a global leader in autonomous driving technology, earned a spot on the list, appearing in the "Vehicles and Components" category alongside major names like BYD, Geely, CATL, Fuyao Glass, and Chery. WeRide stands out as the only autonomous driving company on the list, marking a significant achievement for the industry.
The Fortune Most Admired Companies List is one of the world’s leading evaluations of corporate reputation, focusing on aspects such as management, talent attraction, product and service quality, social responsibility, investment value, asset management, and international reach.
Innovation Through Talent
WeRide believes that innovation starts with people. From its founding, the company has embraced core values of "GRIT"—Growth, Results, Innovation, and Teamwork. This approach has attracted top talent from around the world, offering them vast opportunities for career growth. Today, WeRide has over 2,000 employees, 91% of whom work in research and development. This strong R&D focus has led to over 1,000 patent applications, with more than 80% already authorized, demonstrating the company’s technological strength.
Serving Communities Through Diverse Applications
WeRide is dedicated to developing safe and reliable autonomous driving solutions, offering a range of products including Robotaxi, Robobus, Robovan, Robosweeper, and Advanced Driving Solutions. These solutions support intelligent mobility, smart logistics, and smart city services. In May, WeRide began China’s first open-road L4 autonomous freight testing in Guangzhou. By June, it launched autonomous toll services on Beijing’s airport expressway, and in September, it began commercial operations with autonomous minibuses in the Guangdong-Macao cooperation zone in Hengqin.

WeRide’s autonomous vehicles now operate in cities such as Guangzhou, Beijing, Wuxi, Abu Dhabi, and Singapore, providing convenient, intelligent transportation for residents and tourists alike.
Empowering Communities Through Education and Philanthropy
WeRide actively fulfills its social responsibilities by collaborating with government bodies, schools, and nonprofit organizations on initiatives like "Dreams Powered by Technology" and "Tech-Driven Rural Revitalization." The company hosts workshops for underprivileged students in areas such as Daliangshan, offering them autonomous driving experiences. Additionally, WeRide uses its autonomous minibuses to promote farm products from regions like Qinghai, helping rural communities expand their market reach. The company also introduces these autonomous minibuses into vocational classrooms as educational tools, supporting talent development in intelligent transportation.
As Fortune editors have noted, companies that emphasize resilience, sustainability, and social responsibility tend to achieve greater commercial success. A long-term strategic vision enables firms like WeRide not only to face challenges but to continue growing, embodying a strong and respected business model.
Driven by its mission to "transform transportation through autonomous driving," WeRide remains committed to people-first principles, user satisfaction, and giving back to society, all while advancing sustainable urban living.
