XCMG and Cummins Sign New JV Agreement, Extend Partnership to 2036
XCMG and Cummins announced on March 3 that they have signed a new joint venture agreement to further strengthen cooperation through their joint venture company, Xuzhou Meritor Axle Co., Ltd. The agreement extends the partnership through 2036.
Under the new agreement, the two companies will continue to work together based on their existing cooperation model. They will also expand collaboration in system integration and new energy technologies.
Senior executives from both companies attended the signing ceremony. These included Yang Dongsheng, Chairman and Party Secretary of XCMG Group and XCMG Machinery; Jiang Mingzhong, Vice President of XCMG Machinery; Luo Guangjie, Vice President of XCMG Machinery; Amy Davis, Vice President of Cummins and President of Components and Accelera; and Chai Yongquan, Vice President of Cummins and General Manager of Cummins China Components.

XCMG and Cummins have maintained a long-term partnership in the construction machinery sector. Over the years, the two companies have worked together on core products and system solutions, covering product supply, technology collaboration, and market development. By combining XCMG’s strengths in equipment manufacturing with Cummins’ expertise in power technology, the partnership has supported continuous product upgrades and technological innovation.
Under the new agreement, XCMG will support the development of Xuzhou Meritor as both a shareholder and a key customer. The support will include order support, technical cooperation, resource sharing, and market channel development.
At the same time, Xuzhou Meritor will benefit from Cummins’ global technology and resources. The company will introduce advanced research and development capabilities and manufacturing standards, improve its production and supply chain systems, increase operational efficiency, and shorten delivery cycles to deliver more competitive customized solutions for global customers.
