The First Locally Produced FARIZON V8E Rolls Off Production Line in Indonesia
On August 13, 2026, Geely Farizon has reached a new milestone in Indonesia, with the first V8E assembled at its local KD plant rolling off the production line. The event marks the completion of the company’s first overseas KD project and the start of local mass production in Indonesia.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mike Fan, CEO of Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group; Cook Xue, General Manager of Geely Farizon Auto International; Hartono Sohor, Chairman of Arista Group; and Denny Siregar, President Director of Handal Indonesia Motor. Local partners and industry representatives also attended the event.
Local assembly to support the Indonesian market
The Geely Farizon KD plant is located about 80 kilometers southeast of Jakarta, with convenient transport links and access to established local industrial suppliers.
The plant is currently equipped to assemble the V8E locally. Geely Farizon plans to further upgrade the production lines and introduce more locally assembled models to the Indonesian market.
Local KD assembly offers several advantages over importing fully built vehicles. It can shorten delivery times, simplify the supply chain and allow the company to respond more quickly to local market demand.
It also gives Geely Farizon greater flexibility to adapt its products to local operating conditions and customer needs. At the same time, local production can help lower overall operating costs and improve the competitiveness of its vehicles.
For Geely Farizon, the plant also provides a local manufacturing base to support its long-term development in Indonesia.
V8E tailored for Indonesian operations
The V8E assembled at the plant has been adapted to Indonesia’s road conditions, logistics needs and climate.
The electric truck features an 8.5-cubic-meter cargo box and offers a driving range of more than 400 kilometers on a full charge. It is designed to balance cargo capacity, range and maneuverability in urban areas.
The V8E can be used for last-mile delivery, urban-rural freight transport and intra-city logistics. It is aimed at a range of daily commercial transport operations where operators are looking for lower-emission and more cost-efficient vehicles.
Mike Fan, CEO of Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group, said:
“Entering Indonesia is not simply about selling vehicles in the local market. We want to build a long-term presence in Indonesia, become part of the local industrial chain and work with local partners to develop sustainable local capabilities.
“The Indonesian KD project is Geely Farizon’s first overseas KD production project. With local production, we will further connect our products, manufacturing, supply chain and after-sales services, while developing vehicles that better fit Indonesian roads and market needs.”
Building a local presence step by step
Since entering Indonesia in 2026, Geely Farizon has gradually expanded its local operations, moving from product launches to a broader lineup and now to local assembly.

In January 2026, Geely Farizon entered the Indonesian market in partnership with Arista Group and launched the SuperVAN as its first model in the country.
In April 2026, the V7E and 16-seat passenger version of the SuperVAN were displayed at the Indonesia International Commercial Vehicle Exhibition, expanding the company’s product offering for local customers.
In late July 2026, Geely Farizon took part in GIIAS 2026, where the V8E made its first public appearance outside China.
With the addition of the V8E, Geely Farizon’s Indonesian lineup now covers cargo transport, passenger transport and urban delivery. The broader lineup is designed to address different needs across Indonesia’s commercial transport market.
The company is also continuing to strengthen its local operations as it expands its product and manufacturing presence in the country.
Indonesia becomes a key base for Southeast Asia
The rollout of the first locally assembled V8E marks another step in Geely Farizon’s expansion across Southeast Asia.
The company plans to continue adapting its products and services to Indonesian market needs while strengthening its local manufacturing and operational capabilities.
The Indonesian KD project will also serve as an important base for Geely Farizon’s wider ASEAN strategy. The company plans to deepen cooperation with local partners and introduce its new energy commercial vehicle technologies and green logistics solutions to more markets in the region.
Through local production and closer cooperation with partners, Geely Farizon aims to support the electrification of logistics and commercial transportation in Indonesia and across Southeast Asia.
