SANY Trucks Makes IAA Debut with Production Electric Trucks
SANY Trucks made its debut at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover on September 14, presenting a range of production electric commercial vehicles for the European market.
SANY Trucks joined forces with European concrete equipment company Putzmeister for the exhibition under the theme “Here to Stay.”

The lineup included a 636kWh electric heavy-duty truck, an electric cargo truck and an electric mixer truck. The company used the event to present its electric vehicle technology and plans for long-term development in Europe.
A long-term plan for Europe
On the first day of the show, SANY Trucks held a media event and a stand-opening ceremony.
Kevin Eichele, head of electric heavy-duty truck product and business development at SANY-Putzmeister, said SANY Trucks plans to build a long-term business in Europe.
He said the vehicles on display were not concept or test vehicles. They are production models that have passed relevant EU certification and have already been tested in real-world operations.
SANY Trucks aims to help European transport companies reduce emissions while keeping the operating costs of electric trucks under control.
Executives from SANY Group, SANY Heavy Truck, Putzmeister and their European operations attended the stand-opening ceremony.
Production electric truck already in European operation
On September 15, the show opened to professional visitors, with the SE636 electric heavy-duty truck becoming one of the main attractions at the SANY stand.
The SE636 is the first mass-produced pure electric heavy-duty truck from China to receive EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA), according to SANY.
The model is already operating in European markets including Germany and Türkiye.
The SE636 uses a 4×2 configuration and a 636kWh battery pack mounted under the chassis. It has a range of up to 500 km and a vehicle weight of 10.9 tonnes.

The truck is designed for different transportation applications in Europe, balancing driving range with payload requirements.
SANY’s electric heavy-duty trucks have been deployed in large-scale commercial operations worldwide, with more than 70,000 vehicles in operation.
Since SANY began local operations in Europe in 2022, its electric products have entered 15 countries and regions and have covered more than 20 million km. The company has also gained experience in local certification, after-sales service and market operations.

At IAA, SANY Trucks also offered visitors an opportunity to drive the vehicles. A 2-km professional test-drive route was set up at the event.
Logistics companies and professional drivers from Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and other countries took part in the test drives.
Participants tested the trucks’ acceleration, regenerative braking and cabin noise levels. Some said the driving experience was better than they expected.
Building a local service network
SANY Trucks is also working with Putzmeister to strengthen its local operations in Europe.
The company plans to continue developing local manufacturing, sales, after-sales service and technical support.
Using Putzmeister’s existing European operations, SANY has established a three-level service network.
The first level includes more than 650 partner service stations across Europe for routine maintenance and repairs.

The second level is a Putzmeister professional service team that provides technical support for specific issues.
The third level focuses on high-voltage systems and batteries, with SANY and key suppliers providing specialized technical support.
The network is designed to provide faster maintenance, repair and technical support for European customers operating electric heavy-duty trucks.
Expanding its European business
Europe has an established commercial vehicle industry and a mature service network. At its first IAA appearance, SANY Trucks presented production electric vehicles that are already in real-world operation, along with its local service and partner network.
As Europe’s logistics industry continues to move toward electrification, SANY Trucks plans to further develop its local operations in the region.
The company will use its product development capabilities, operating experience and local partnerships to provide electric commercial vehicles and zero-emission logistics solutions for Europe and other international markets.
