SMHE Delivers Customized HOWO Trucks to Meet Diverse Operational Needs
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – [Nov 26, 2025] /ChinaTrucks.org/ –: Sino Mobile and Heavy Equipment Sdn Bhd (SMHE), the official Sinotruk distributor in Malaysia, is expanding the use of customized HOWO trucks to help operators improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance fleet reliability.
According to SMHE General Manager Khoo Keh Hann, business operations vary widely across industries, and customised engineering is often necessary to ensure trucks perform effectively in real working environments. “A quarry, a construction site, and a highway logistics operator all face very different challenges. A standard truck is not always the best solution,” he said.
SMHE offers tailored configurations across its HOWO TX lineup, including rigid dump trucks, prime movers, and mixers:

Rigid dump trucks can be equipped with customised body sizes, high-strength steel materials, and hydraulic systems, while meeting JPJ regulations.
Prime movers typically adopt a 4.2 axle ratio for fuel-efficient long-haul operations, with many customers opting for the TX-F sleeper cab for improved comfort.

Mixers feature an 8×4 TX chassis with a Rear Engine PTO, ensuring stable torque for consistent mixing and faster discharge on construction sites.
Khoo notes that customization is not about aesthetics but engineering improvements that deliver real business benefits—such as better fuel economy, higher durability, and lower downtime. While customised units may require longer delivery times or slightly higher upfront costs, SMHE says the long-term returns make it a worthwhile investment.

All modifications performed by SMHE comply with regulatory requirements, including ECE R29 cab safety standards and MOT-mandated speed limiter installations. The company cautions fleet owners against in-house modifications, as modern trucks require precise integration of chassis, drivetrain, suspension, and hydraulics to maintain safety and warranty coverage.

SMHE supports customers through authorised workshops in Klang Valley, Ipoh, and Johor, along with mobile service teams for on-site assistance.
“Customization is a strategic investment,” Khoo said. “By building the right truck for the right job, we help operators achieve better performance, cost savings, and long-term reliability.”
