Weichai Power: No Intention to Buy Plant from General Motors

Diesel engine maker Weichai Power Co. said it doesn't have any intention to acquire a General Motors Corp. (GM) plant in France.
The statement follows a Securities Times report. Weichai said the newspaper reported that the Chinese company intends to acquire a vehicle parts factory in Strasbourg, France, and that the factory is a branch of General Motors.
"The Board would like to state that the contents of such article have no basis in fact," Weichai said in a statement.
