Beiqi Foton targets at over 1.5 mln vehicle sales in 2015
Chinese leading commercial vehicle manufacturer Beiqi Foton aims to become a world-level auto company in the coming five to 10 years.
According to Zhao Jingguang, an official with Beiqi Foton, the automaker aims at annual sales of more than 1.5 million units and revenues exceeding 120 billion yuan by 2015, with sales overseas taking up over 30 percent of the total.
Despite negative growth of commercial vehicle sales across the country, Beiqi Foton sold 235,000 units in the first five months. For the full year of 2009, Beiqi Foton is confident about sales of 426,000 units and hopes to sell 475,000 units.
Beiqi Foton is a state-owned listed company located in Beijing, with total assets of 11 billion yuan. It has ranked the second in the global commercial vehicle market for three years in a row and the first in the Chinese commercial vehicle market for five consecutive years.
The automaker has included new energy vehicle into its development strategy and will develop a number of new energy vehicles of different models in the futures.
