JAC H1 Sales Up 13.92%
Chinese automaker Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd. (JAC, SHSE: 600418) produced 146,027 vehicles and chassis and sold 145,665 ones in the first half of 2009, separately rising 14.82% and 13.92% from a year earlier.
In June alone, the automaker sold 25,066 vehicles and chassis, including 5,819 cars, a growth of 13.56% month on month. Notably, in spite of the sluggish MPV sector, it sold 3,455 MPVs in June and a total of 21,581 ones in the first half, climbing up 6.73% year on year.
Jianghuai Automobile has mainly gained its profit from the MPV and light truck businesses. Its MPV model Refine, ranking first in the MPV sector, has controlled a market share of about 21.66%, and contributed roughly 35% of its complete vehicle sales revenue.
The automaker has raised its Refine sales goal for 2009 from 36,300 to 41,000, and those for 2010 and 2011 to 44,000 and 47,000, respectively. Meanwhile, it has insisted on a market margin prediction of 28% for the MPV model.
