Jianghuai Automobile Jan-Sep Sold Over 120,000 Light Trucks
(chinatrucks.com, Nov. 6, 2009)Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd. (JAC; SHSE: 600418) saw its light-duty truck sales reach 121,446 units in the first three quarters of 2009, with domestic sales hiking 46.4% year on year 115,000 units, citing a report.
Up to 17,006 light trucks were sold in September alone, representing a surge of 137.95% from the same month of 2008, and analysts anticipated that the JAC's light truck sales would exceed 150,000 units in entire 2009. By comparison, the company's annual sales of such products remained between 100,000 and 120,000 units in the past three years.
JAC's sales growth earlier this year was partly attributed to the Chinese government's auto purchase subsidization, which considerably stimulated both the urban and rural areas' light truck demands, insiders said. On the other hand, China's urban logistics have been rebounding since the second quarter, boosting the sales of medium- and high-end light trucks.
As a consequence, more than 1.13 million light trucks were sold in the country from July to September, jumping 17.35% year on year.
