Yuchai to establish the largest diesel engine casting production base in Asia
(chinatrucks.com, Sep 16, 2010) Yuchai is the famous domestic enterprise fro the production of diesel engine. Sales volumes of Yuchai in 2009 have surpassed 670,000, and it has raked No. 1 at the industry in consecutive five years. During the traditional sales seasons, from the end of 2009 to early of 2010, Yuchai has lost about 20,000 orders because of the lack of engine capacities.
Yuchai group decides to invest big sum of money to establish diesel engine casting center to solve the demands and supply problems and improve products quality. The casting center is located in Yuchai industrious park with 1800 square meters area, and the overall investments are around 200 million Euros. The establishment period is eight weeks and the it plans to establish 6 casting assembly lines. The casting center will produce about 300,000 tons of light, medium and heavy diesel engine castings with annual value of 370 million Euros after the center has been completed, and it will become the largest diesel engine casting production base in Asia.
It is introduced that the first production line of casting center has been initiated on Feb 10th, 2009, and it will put into production on March 12th, 2010. The production line is taken 36,000 square meters and the original production period is nearly 600 days, and the actual period is about 400 days. It has created “Yuchai speed”. The production line has a high establishment base, and fast establishment speed, and high efficiency. The process level is the first class in China. Moreover, the robot core setting process is the first creation in the world.
