SAIC–IVECO Hongyan Sells 17,000 Heavy Trucks in 2012

www.chinatrucks.com: SAIC Group's sales report for 2012 released on Jan. 5th. Among the production and sales data, SAIC–IVECO Hongyan Commercial Vehicle Co., LTD. sold 17,000 heavy trucks in 2012, down 46.01 percent of the year-on-year growth comparing the 31,500 units in 2011. But NAVECO sold 132,013 units of vehicles in 2012; with the year-on-year growth was 15.98 percent comparing to the 113,827 units in 2011.

In Dec. 2012, SAIC–IVECO Hongyan sold 1,833 heavy trucks. Its total production volumes were 15,600 units, down 42.18 percent over 2011. In Dec. 2012, Naveco's production and sale volume were 12,585 units and 9,692 units of vehicles, which respectively increased by 20.62 percent and 22.67 percent comparing with the Nov. 2011. In the whole year of 2012, Naveco produced 131,687 vehicles, which increased by 14.91 percent comparing to 2011, which were 114.605 units. 

Looking at cumulative sales results for 2012, all of SAIC's major companies reported positive year-on-year growth. Yearly sales of SAIC's two key JVs, Shanghai VW and Shanghai GM, increased from 1.16 million units and 1.23 million units in 2011 to 1.28 million units and 1.39 million units in 2012. SAIC Motor's sales grew 23.46 percent from 16,888 units in 2011 to 25,107 units in 2012, while those of SAIC-GM-Wuling increased from 114,570 units to 126,730 units, representing year-on-year growth of 12.07 percent.
