Weichai Aims to Join Fortune 500 Club

Ji Yong, who is in charge of the implementation of the project in the company, said that the company has saved more than ¥90 million yuan in manufacturing thanks to the project.
The company plans to reach the same management level of Toyota in 5 years. And the spirit, which was developed by Toyota, served the company and helped the company to get to the leading place in the industry. Weichai hopes to see same things happen to itself.
We have been the biggest engine maker for 6 consecutive years, and the total number of engine produced has passed 3 million. Depending on this huge product number as well as a customer base, the company has decided to promote new products.
Also Weichai is actively developing the overseas market by providing customized and personalized services. As calculated, more than 40% of its annual revenue comes from service industry.
If we only care about manufacturing, we may become a factory for those world famous brand, said the people of Weichai. In this competitive market, one has to always innovate so as not to fall behind. Weichai realizes this and tries its best to improve itself.

In January, 2009, Weichai acquired Baudouin of France, marking the start of the internationalization of the company. Depending on Baudouin, Weichai entered the European market with WP6 and WP12 engines. In 2010, the company set foot in the south east Asia markets. in 2012, Weichai set up the Europe developing center in order to better endeavor the market.
In 2012, Weichai signed strategic cooperation contract with Kion company of Germany, a leader in the world industrial-use forklift industry. This is an important step for Weichai towards a international company. This deal marks the company has entered the forklift market as well as high end hydraulic market.
